Dutch women's football star and Paris Saint-Germain forward Lieke Martens on Tuesday announced her retirement from professional football.
Martens, 30, is one of the most decorated players in Dutch football history, having won the FIFA Women's Player of the Year award in 2017 and the UEFA Women's Player of the Year award in 2018.
She has also won two Champions League titles with Lyon and two league titles with Barcelona.
Martens made her professional debut for Heerenveen in 2009 and has since gone on to play for VVV-Venlo, Duisburg, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
She has also made 152 appearances for the Netherlands national team, scoring 62 goals.
